It has been a while since I’d posted anything, I have so many hobbies and goals outside of (pretty intense) full time work that it’s hard finding time to do everything consistently!
As some may be aware, I have a Youtube channel where I upload vlogs, mostly of everyday mundane life. But I also enjoy storytelling and the idea of putting the thoughts I would usually write about into a visual form. This video is short, but covers a topic that has been on my mind a lot over the last few months: Time.
Or more specifically, our habit of wishing time away.
It’s something you hear (and say) often; ‘I just want today to be over’, ‘This week needs to end’, ‘I can’t wait for the new year’. How much time to we waste feeling unfulfilled, unsatisfied, or unhappy and wishing time away because we think that tomorrow or next week will be better?
Perhaps it’s not time that needs to change, but our way of thinking? Better yet, if our circumstances make things so hard to accept, why not try to change it instead of accept it? Some things may not be able to change, but what about smaller things that affect our lives or moods on a day-to-day basis? Scheduling something exciting during the workday instead of after, that can lift our spirits or even help us enjoy work(for instance).
Time is only slow when we are young and live fully. Why not try and take back some of that innocence and enjoyment instead of rushing through life?
